What is it like to be the hero and heroine in a romance novel? Here’s what reality romance stars Michelle Snow and Todd Bracken have to say…
How did you respond when asked to be the subject of a romance novel?
MICHELLE:
Todd and I are a little private although we show a lot of affection towards each other in public.
TODD:
I was really kind of in disbelief. I thought it was so exciting, but I was a little worried about putting so much “detail” if you know what I mean in a book about me and Michelle. But then we said “Why the heck not” (especially after they said it would probably be like a PG-13 if you gave it a movie rating).
When is the first time you realized you were “in love?”
MICHELLE:
I fell quickly, very quickly. I knew we had a spark the very first night but I think when he left for Germany 10 days after we met, I was smitten, in love. I dropped him off at the airport and it hit me like a ton of bricks, I was in love with a guy that I had just met 10 days prior.
TODD:
Probably at a Shins concert I took us to not more than a month after meeting her. We looked at each other and we felt like we could feel each other’s heart beating, and knew exactly what the other was thinking without even saying a word. She said she was going to “take good care of me” – and I knew.
What did you think about “true love” before you two met?
MICHELLE:
I believed in true love and knew it was out there. If I didn’t find it, I knew I would still lead a nice, content life but would always wonder why love hadn’t found me.
TODD:
I thought it was something for other people. I didn’t believe it really – then I was almost struck by like lightening. In an instance I believed in it.
What do you think about “true love” now?
MICHELLE:
True love is real. It really is. It’s amazing. I’m extremely lucky I found true love and true love (my Sweet Todd) found me.
TODD:
I know EXACTLY what it is. It’s so many things, but it’s a feeling like you lost something extremely special to you, and all the sudden someone brought it to you without asking AND knew you were looking for it all along.
What is the biggest thing that is incompatible about the two of you?
MICHELLE:
I don’t have any incompatible issues with Todd at all. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
TODD:
That’s really tough – honestly… I would have to say that we like most of the same music but not everything. But that’s about it – seriously!
If “The Icing on the Cake” is turned into a movie, which actor would you like to play you? Which actor would you like to play your spouse?
MICHELLE:
I would love to see Jennifer Aniston play the part of me and for Todd, that would have to be Ryan Reynolds.
TODD:
I would like to be played by Ashton Kutcher, because he’s funny but can also be serious. Michelle would have to either be Jennifer Aniston, or Kate Beckinsale.
What is the thing you’re most nervous for people to learn about you in the book?
MICHELLE:
We opened our soul for this book and we are completely fine and excited we did because it is out of character for us but we are really proud of how we met, the relationship we share and our personal lives.
TODD:
We are both really private, but I’m not nervous about any part of it. Alison did a wonderful job of writing us and I’m proud of the whole book.
How do you feel about the “steamy” parts of your story in “The Icing in the Cake?”
MICHELLE:
We are okay with it. My parents skipped over those parts so that’s all that matters.
TODD:
I think it was very tasteful and I’m also glad it’s pretty brief (no pun intended). I’m also glad that real life was soooo much steamier.
What is your favorite reality TV show?
MICHELLE:
Bachelor/Bachelorette.
TODD:
Definitely NOT “DC Cupcake!” We really like to watch Bachelor/Bachelorette, and I get a kick out of “Wipeout”.
What advice do you have for singles still looking for their true love?
MICHELLE:
It’s not about where you find love….love is out there everywhere and you should be proud if you find your husband on the metro, an on-line dating service or at the grocery. Know yourself, know what you’re looking for and don’t settle for anything less or you’ll never be happy.
TODD:
Don’t put so much pressure on meeting someone. Find things that you love to do – find a way to start loving adventure and trying new things – be happy with yourself and the confidence of not being afraid to try new things and the happiness you make for yourself will be really attractive to anyone – it will happen all on its own.
