Real-Life True Vows Couple – Meet Me In Manhattan
Ted Skala and Erika Fredell both attended high school in Mendham, N.J. He was a wrestler with artistic talent. She was a straight-A student with national equestrian awards.
After one summer of torrid teenage love, Ted and Erika parted ways when Erika went off to college in Colorado and Ted ventured off to Arizona, Seattle, and Maine.
After college they both ended up on the island of Manhattan where Ted worked in marketing, and Erika worked in finance. Fifteen years after their high school romance crashed and burned, Ted sent Erika an e-mail with a request to “meet me in Manhattan.”
And that’s where a new chapter in their story begins.
An editor for HCI Publishing was introduced to Ted and Erika when their real-life fairy tale romance was published in the New York Times. Their true love story was perfect for a new reality-based romance series of books called “True Vows,” and their story became the basis of the romance novel “Meet Me In Manhattan,” penned by renowned romance author Judith Arnold.
